This is not a softshell suitable for wearing next to the skin; personally, I feel it leans towards a “hardshell” wool jacket design. The surface has a slight nap, giving it a “proper wool coat” feel, but its functionality is far superior to a typical wool coat. Fit and Wearing Feel: Not form-fitting, exudes confidence. Sawyer uses a three-dimensional cut, resulting in a looser overall fit. It doesn’t have the “softshell feel” of a traditional Arc’teryx jacket, but rather resembles a functional wool coat.
